Oakland Black Arts Movement & Business District Business Retention Program

The Oakland Black Arts Movement & Business District Retention Program is a collaboration between Uptima Business Bootcamp, Bay Area Organization of Black Owned Businesses, Community Coalition for Equitable Development and L.C. & Lillie Cox Haven of Hope to support retention of Black-owned small businesses and Black-led non-profits currently located in or previously displaced from the district.

Through this program we provide free one-on-one business advising and workshops to help you create an action plan, find funding and implement your plan to maintain and grow your business in Oakland’s Black Arts Movement & Business District.

Existing Black-owned small businesses and Black-led non-profits based in Oakland’s Black Arts Movement & Business that:

• Are potentially at risk of displacement or closure, or have previously been displaced from the district
• Have the potential to retain existing jobs or create new jobs
• Need business support to stay in place or relocate elsewhere in the district
• Can commit the time and effort to put in place a plan to maintain and grow their business

We offer free customized, one-on-one business advising to help you maintain and grow your businesses in Oakland’s Black Arts Movement & Business District.
